The use of a single 30mm x 30mm radial fan is a great way to reduce the weight on the print head, but with such a small size fan also comes a low flow rate, when compared to its larger siblings. With this in mind, we sought to design a nozzle that would optimize the exiting air flow that would not just cool at low print speeds, but at high print speeds as well. After many design iterations and rigorous testing, we are proud to offer our 3.84g fan nozzle. The nozzle is made from a high temperature, engineering grade resin, allowing us to place the nozzle tip as close to the hot end as possible, while maintaining adequate clearance from the build plate. To help reduce heat transfer to the nozzle from the heater block, a thermal barrier is added to the top surface of the nozzle helping reflect up to 80% of the radiant heat.
